"Becca's Closet" is a non-profit organization
which provides formal-wear to high school students who cannot afford their own for homecoming or prom. The program was
designed to continue the legacy of 16-year-old Rebecca Kirtman, of Florida, who came up with the idea and collected 250 dresses
herself the first year. Sadly, in August of 2003, Becca--a cheerleader, honor student, and obvious humanitarian--died
in a car accident.
Her family and friends have since launched "Becca's
Closet," which now flourishes in Becca's native Florida and currently has chapters all over the world.
When I read about Becca in an issue of YM Magazine,
I felt compelled to help and honor this amazing girl's memory. Thus, I applied for and got approved to begin New Jersey's
first "Becca's Closet" Chapter!

MISSION STATEMENT:
(As per BeccasCloset.org)
Becca's Closet was created as a legacy to Rebecca Kirtman
and the project she started. Becca's Closet provides formal attire to high school students who otherwise would not be able
to attend their prom/homecoming. Our mission is to continue her vision and dream of helping others. In Becca's memory, scholarships
are awarded to deserving high school students to advance their education.
